The Space Between was the first IDW series of Star Trek comics. Set during the seven-year run of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the first issue was sold in January 2007 and was followed by five more monthly issues to complete the run.

Issue #1 was set in season 1, issue #2 in season five, issue #3 in season seven, while issue #4 returned to season six, season two for issue #5 and issue #6 was in season seven once again.

It was hoped that this six part mini-series would give Star Trek comics life once again. It seems to have worked, as IDW published another series shortly after, and followed that up with more releases.

An omnibus edition collecting all of the issue was released 7 September 2007.
