The New was a representation of the revitalized change in the philosophy and ideas of the New Era of the Q Continuum. When crewmembers of the USS Voyager visited the Q reality, The New was presented to them as a young woman reading a magazine by that name. In this representation of the Continuum, Quinn wrote a column for The New entitled "My Corner of the Continuum". (VOY: "Death Wish")
