The Jimi Hendrix Experience was a 20th century Earth rock and roll trio, lead by guitarist Jimi Hendrix, that was popular during the mid- to late-1960s.
When Miles O'Brien and Kira Nerys briefly appeared in 1967, the Hendrix version of the song "Hey Joe" was playing loudly from a nearby van. (DS9: "Past Tense, Part II")
