In 2008, the company began to release a wide variety of licensed Star Trek merchandise branded with the CBS Consumer Products logo. Many of the same Star Trek-related items were also marketed by the company's Hawthorne Village and Hamilton Collection divisions. In 1990, J. R. MacArthur's heirs also acquired Hammacher Schlemmer which also released a number of Star Trek electronic items from 2008 to 2011.
