The Best of Trek is a collection of articles from Trek, a Star Trek fanzine. A series of "Best of Trek" collections were later published in over a dozen softcover editions.

The Best of Trek #14, ISBN 0451166469 offers a conjectural history of the mirror universe, suggesting that Surak died as an infant before he could lead Vulcan into the ways of logic and peace, and that Khan Noonien Singh won the Eugenics Wars. Like The Mirror Universe Saga, it portrays the mirror version of David Marcus as a rebel seeking to overthrow the Terran Empire.
