A thalaron generator emits thalaron radiation which, due to its destructive abilities, classifies it as a biogenic weapon.
A thalaron generator much larger than its predecessor, the cascading biogenic pulse, was installed on the Scimitar, a Reman warbird. This generator, in theory, could envelop and decimate all life on an entire M-class planet. It was originally planned to test this weapon on Earth, but was destroyed along with the Scimitar by Lieutenant Commander Data. (Star Trek Nemesis)
