Texas was a region on the North American continent of Earth and a part of the United States of America. It was one of the largest states of the United States of America and bordered the neighboring country of Mexico. The state had a coastline on the Gulf of Mexico. The two-letter abbreviation for this state was TX.

Texas is the real-life birthplace of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry as well as actors Brent Spiner and Michael Dorn.

A scene that was in the shooting script of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Paradise Lost" mentioned a spaceport in the Texan city of Brackettville, through Bracketville Spaceport. Jake Sisko and Joseph Sisko were to take a transport from Brackettville to Mars.
