Tetracyanate 622 was a synthetic substance which was often used as an industrial lubricant during the 22nd century. Due to the highly-toxic nature of the substance, it was usually only used under the strictest of safety regulations.

In 2152, the Malurians employed Tetracyanate 622 in their drilling operation on the Akaali homeworld. Contaminating the Akaali's water supply, it caused a major illness to sweep through the city which the Malurians were based out of. The Malurians were stopped by the intervention of the Enterprise NX-01. (ENT: "Civilization")
