Tessen III was the third planet in the Tessen planetary system. This was an inhabited planet.

In 2368, the USS Enterprise-D destroyed an asteroid threatening to impact on the planet. While most of the asteroid could be destroyed with photon torpedoes, the core composed of nitrium and chrondite could only be a destroyed with a particle beam from the deflector dish. After destroying the asteroid, the Enterprise left Tessen III for the Moselina system. (TNG: "Cost of Living")
