Terry Ahern worked in the craft service for the 1982 film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and as second assistant camera operator on the Star Trek: Enterprise pilot episode "Broken Bow".
The two characters Ahern and Terry Ahern (Starfleet) were named after him and appeared on set artwork in several episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
In 2005 he was part of the production team of the television music special The 10th Annual Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards.
