The Temporal War was first started when the rogue time traveling faction, the Na'kuhl, returned to their time period and made several changes to history. With this powerful violation of the Temporal Accord, all the time traveling factions began to try to wipe out each other's existences.
This war was averted when the Enterprise (NX-01) destroyed the temporal conduit the Na'kuhl attempted to use to return to the future, bringing history back to its normal track. (ENT: "Storm Front", "Storm Front, Part II")
