This is a documentation subpage for Template: Brokenlink (see that page for the template itself). It contains usage information, categories, and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template is to leave broken external links where they are, but make it apparent that they are broken. They shouldn't just disappear if they were an important source of information. They may provide an important clue to where one might find similar information. Someone can later fix the link or find a new source.

Usage Edit

Use these field names if the URL or text fields contain an equal sign:

• url is the URL of the link
• text is the text of the link

{{brokenlink|url=http://www.poetsonbroadway.com/|text=Tony Jay's homepage = awesome}}

yields

Tony Jay's homepage = Awesome!^wbm
