Telna was a Bajoran ranjen who would occationally give sermons at the Bajoran shrine on Deep Space 9. (DS9: "Covenant")

By 2375, he had become Vedek, and was later chosen to perform the wedding ceremony between Benjamin Sisko and Kasidy Yates. The word of this choice was discovered by Kai Winn Adami, who felt it was more appropriate for her to perform the Emissary of the Prophets's wedding.
