Tellarite freighters were the backbone of the Tellarite Mining Consortium during the 22nd century.

During the mid-22nd century, two Tellarite brothers, named Skalaar and Gaavrin, built a Tellarite freighter called the Tezra. The Tezra was seized by the Klingon Empire when it crossed into Klingon territory while hauling fire salt. The ship and its cargo were confiscated and the Tezra was eventually cannibalized by the Klingons. (ENT: "Bounty")

In 2152, a Tellarite freighter responded to a distress call sent by the starship Enterprise NX-01 after the Enterprise received some hull damage following an encounter in a Romulan minefield. Their schedule wouldn't permit them to rendezvous for assistance, but they did transmit coordinates to a repair station that could assist them. (ENT: "Dead Stop")

In 2154, a Romulan drone-ship disguised itself as a Tellarite freighter prior to its attack on the Enterprise. (ENT: "The Aenar")

During the negotiations for the Coalition of Planets in 2155, Tellarites pushed for trade sanctions against the Orions, which they claimed were pirating their freighters. A Coridan ambassador expressed his people's opposition to these sanctions. (ENT: "Demons")
