Ted Gehring (6 April 1929 – 28 September 2000; age 71) played the role of a policeman in the Star Trek: The Original Series episode "Assignment: Earth". Gehring played a Los Angeles police detective in the 1986 thriller Out of Bounds costarring Jeff Kober and John Vickery.
