The Taurean system is an area of uncharted space. The second planet in the Taurean system was, until one point in 2269, home only to women.

When the USS Enterprise was investigating a neighboring region due to reports of Federation and Klingon ships disappearing every 27 years, a signal sent from the Taurean system by the female Taurus II inhabitants temporarily affected the starship's male officers and thereby lured the vessel to Taurus II, which was evacuated shortly thereafter.
