Tarkalean tea

A glass of Tarkalean tea.

Tarkalean tea was a tea produced by the Tarkaleans.

Tarkalean tea was served in the bar on Deep Space K-7 during the 23rd century. (DS9: "Trials and Tribble-ations")

Julian Bashir often enjoyed Tarkalean tea, usually preferring it "extra sweet". (DS9: "The Wire") On occasion, he would have it with sweetened brescha fruit. (DS9: "To the Death")

Kira Nerys enjoyed the beverage as well, however, she preferred hers more on the bitter side. (DS9: "Hippocratic Oath")

Tarkalean tea was considered very soothing to humans experiencing morning sickness. Dr. Bashir gave Kasidy Sisko a cup of the beverage to help ease her morning sickness in late 2375. (DS9: "What You Leave Behind")

'Tarkalean' was incorrectly spelled in the script for "What You Leave Behind" as 'Tarkalian', but it believed to be a simple typographical error. A similar error was made in the script for "Hippocratic Oath" where the spelling 'Tarkalian' appeared in the pronunciation guide, but the spelling was corrected to 'Tarkalean' later on in the script.
