The Tanuga system was a planetary system. There was an inhabited planet, Tanuga IV, in this system. This planet was the homeworld for the Tanugans, a highly advanced humanoid species.

The USS Enterprise-D visited the Tanuga system in 2366 to deliver dicosilium to the Tanugan scientist Doctor Nel Apgar. (TNG: "A Matter of Perspective")
