The Tanaline Propulsion Laboratory was a science laboratory investigating different kinds of uses for propulsion.

In 2370, Dr. Nils Diaz was experimenting with different types of propulsion while at the Tanaline Propulsion Laboratory. His work was not known through the Federation, however Ensign Taurik was able to view preliminary reports of his findings at Starfleet Academy. Taurik was able to put some of Diaz' theories to work while he was stationed in engineering on the USS Enterprise-D. (TNG: "Lower Decks")
