Her official site has no occurrences of the "ñ" in her name -- leading me to believe it is incorrectly used on MA. -- Captain MKB 14:20, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

No idea about the her official site, but IMDB says that the written name on the page, is sometimes used as her name in credits.--Terran Officer 00:04, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
It all depends on how she is credited in the final film. That said, she was only credited once with both the umlaut over the "e" and the accent over the "n" (in Guess Who) and has been most frequently credited either with just the umlauted "e" (Center Stage, Get Over It, Crossroads, Drumline, The Terminal, Dirty Deeds) or with no special characters whatsoever (Pirates, Law & Order: SVU, Haven, Six Degrees). Since she does not use the accent on her official site and since she is most credited that way, I will move the page to Zoë Saldana... but again, the final destination depends on her credit in Star Trek. --From Andoria with Love 21:18, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Ethnic history Edit

Does anyone think it bears noting that Saldana is not African-American but Hispanic-American? Especially since the casting called for:

  • [UHURA] 25ish - African-American. Brilliant, beautiful, heroic and FUN!, Uhura is almost tom-boyish - as if she grew up in a houseful of brothers. [empahsis mine]?

I don't think it matters so long as she looks the part (which she does) and can play the character appropriately (which I'm sure she can). Despite what was said in the casting sheet, in the end, it all depends on who can play the role the best. --From Andoria with Love 07:54, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
