We do not know that!Edit

In the episode 'Captain's Holiday', only the title of the book and the name of the author were mentioned. We are not told that the book was his central work and that it was considered a major philosophical text. The latter may be conjectured from the fact that Riker knew the book too, but that's hardly conclusive evidence! If we get overly pedantic, we must admit that we are not even told whether Kuda was a philosopher. However, the book title clearly indicates a philosophical work, making its author a philosopher.

If no further references on Kuda and his book are supplied, we'll have to delete the unsupported lines.
