I just edited two of the paragraphs on the Vina page, here are the reasons.

According to the exposition when the Enterprise crew met Vina, and also according to the calculation given by Number One after she and Yeoman Colt were beamed into the cage, Vina was a newborn baby around the time of the Columbia's crash on Talos IV. The old edit described Vina as a crewmember rather than a baby. It also said that the Talosians had nothing to go by to repair her body except what they could glean from her mind, but of course that would not be useful when the mind being read is that of an infant.

The old edit stated that the Talosians decided Humans unsuitable for their plans as a result of Pike's actions. That is partially true of course, but the turning point was when the second and third Talosians came up the elevator to the surface and reported to the "main vein" what they had found after taking the time to go through the Enterprise's records on Human history. The leader than explained why they were being allowed to leave, and Pike's name was not mentioned. In my edit, I said that the Humans "demonstrated" that they preferred death to captivity. The demonstration (or evidence, if you prefer) was the data that the Humans had unwittingly provided in the ship's history tapes, Pike's intransigence during his captivity, Vina's outrage at the prospect of being part of a harem, and Number One's setting her phaser to blow everyone up to prevent the Talosians from enslaving them.

Don't have time to go through all of this, but out of curiosity, why does being an infant maker her not a "crewmember"? --OuroborosCobra talk 11:58, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Okay, typically a full blown explaination isn't necessary when updating a page, but nevertheless, thanks for updating the page. --Alan 12:08, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
