SynopsisEdit

I have greatly expanded the plot synopsis, however, I had to do so from memory. It has been more than two weeks since I watched this episode and I may have omitted some details or gotten some events out of order. I tried my best to be as accurate as possible, and expect some expanding to be done to fill out details. Indeed, I may do some myself as I have placed this episode back on high priority to watch again.

Tuvok Nitpick Edit

Tuvok says he was born on Stardate 38774 on Vulcanis Lunar Colony. This presents two problems. Firstly, VOY: "Flashback" establishes that Tuvok served under Sulu aboard the USS Excelsior, around Stardate 9521.6. This apparent inconsistency is likely due to a change in the Stardate system between the original Star Trek and The Next Generation or other relativistic quirks in the stardate system which we do not understand. Secondly there is the apparent inconsistency with "The Man Trap", in which Spock tells Uhura that "Vulcan has no moon." A possible explanation for this is that the Vulcanis Lunar Colony is on a moon orbiting a different planet entirely; given its name possibly Luna the moon of Earth.

Removed the above nitpick. – Morder 16:45, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Janeway, Tuvok, and Torres seem to undergo a minor assimilation relative to other drones. Namely, their arms were not amputated for a tool module and their eyes were not replaced with ocular implants. This might be explained with reference to "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II" where Jean-Luc Picard's tool module is not attached until after his initial assimilation, and his eye was not removed, although it might have been later, as seen in the flashback sequence in Star Trek: First Contact. Their major organs are also not affected, as evidenced by Torres later giving birth to a healthy baby.

Nitpick. "It's just convenient to the plot" — Morder 21:56, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Missed Opportunity to Get Home?Edit

Is it worth mentioning in the background info that there is a missed opportunity to get home? I'm not talking about the Borg Queen's (most likely false) offer to give the crew transwarp technology to stay out of Unimatrix Zero. The crew could have possibly bummed one or two transwarp coils from Korok's ship... --70.176.184.44 03:44, October 26, 2009 (UTC)

Removed the following comment related to this- we don't state what wasn't done, or speculate on it.
  • The liberated vessel now in possession of Korok and his men presumably has transwarp capability. It is never explained why they didn't give Voyager a piggyback ride (as seen in Endgame) to the Alpha quadrant. Presumably, the transwarp would have made their journey considerably shorter.--31dot 19:19, March 24, 2011 (UTC)
