- Since Memory Alpha only considers information as canon, which was either mentioned or shown on screen, i doubt that the titan class-article should be created here. the best would be to implememt that info under "background information" at the USS Titan article. --BlueMars 13:14, Jun 19, 2004 (CEST)
From the owner of ussmiranda.com - My design is pureply concjectural. That credit was taken from behind the scenes information at the time that a design for the Titan had indeed been commissioned (though this has never been confirmed.) I assumed Paramount would have trademarked the name "Titan Class Starship". That page will be amended following the Pocket books contest. - Patrick Weber, webmaster, ussmiranda.com USS Titan
non-Canon from the novel Star Trek Titan, Taking Wing'The USS Titan (NCC-80102) is a Luna class starship. It has a crew of 350, and is approximately 450 meters long. The Titan is the most varied multispecies crew in Starfleet history, less then 15% of the crew is human.
I can't remember where I heard this, but I was under the impression that the starship Titan was a Galaxy class ship. I'll keep checking.--Just James 10:28, 13 November 2006 (GMT+10:00)
It was implied in Nemesis that Riker's ship is a Galaxy Class ship. The luna class described above would be one of the smallest ships in the fleet and the name Titan would be a sick joke. I haven't read any of the non-cannon Titan novels, but if Riker was assigned to a little ship then it would be a demotion. According to the US Navy, small ships are commanded by junior officers to prepare them for command. Also, it would not be "heading up the fleet" as Riker says in Nemesis. Small ships serve as escorts to freighter convoys or as scouts for the larger, more important capital ships. Small ships carry minimal weapons and defenses and would not last very long in a fight.
- It is never implied that I saw that he was going to command a Galaxy class. In addition, Starfleet is not the US Navy, and small ships can be very powerful (see the Defiant and Intrepid class). --OuroborosCobra talk 17:17, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
Anyone else having a problem with the link given for the sketches of the Titan?
I suggest substituting it with
- Both links to the graphics are broken, this one above also. I suggest removing them all. Can I get a heads up from an admin or should I just be bold?--Obey the Fist!! 14:59, February 23, 2010 (UTC)
