So I was wandering around the site, wasting time when I came to this article (USS Malinche). This passage stuck out.
- According to Ronald D. Moore, the ship was named for La Malinche, "Cortéz' Indian lover, a brilliant woman who had a gift for languages." (AOL chat, 1997) She assisted Cortés in his conquest of Mexico.
Anyone know how Cortéz/Cortés is suppossed to spelt? NX-74205 02:14, February 16, 2010 (UTC)
- It's a reference to Hernán Cortés. But Ron Moore said "Cortéz" in the source quoted; we don't correct spelling etc. in direct quotes. See also: USS Cortez.– Cleanse ( talk | contribs ) 02:35, February 16, 2010 (UTC)
- Good to know. Thanks.-NX-74205 16:28, February 16, 2010 (UTC)
