This is a long shot, but since you asked; remember that there's a species called Teplans. They couldn't possibly be the source of this ship name, but if evidence could be found that that name was some kind of in-joke; then this ship might be an in-joke reference to the same thing. -- Capricorn (talk) 06:37, January 24, 2013 (UTC)
