Hello, this is my first discussion. I've made some changehis to this area which others have reverted so I want to make sure what I do is ok with everyone before I do anymore work. I would like to make this a comprehensive trading card section. I want to post a picture of each card for all the sets out there. This is done for star trek cards on several sites like beckett.com and jklm.net but they charge for access to those areas. This section of memory-alpha has been modeled after this site. http://www.wixiban.com/trading-cards/trading-cards.htm It does offer free access but isn't updateable by the users. Clicking on the individual sets you can see photos of each card. Does anyone feel like there would be a problem doing that? Also I would like to list the cards in a three column format since that's how they are displayed in the sheet protectors (3 rows of 3 columns make a 9 card sheet). I did that for the animated adventures set when I created it. The sets someone else had already created are in a one or two column format. Thanks for any advice. --Digitalhexcode (talk) 23:23, December 29, 2013 (UTC)

To be honest, I'm not sure if a recreation of every card of a trading card set is something we'd want to have on this site - among other reasons, copyright might be an issue because a complete set of images might fall outside any "fair use" case. By all means, continue editing, but perhaps it might be best to first do some "broad strokes" for all trading card sets and only then think about going into more detail? -- Cid Highwind (talk) 16:33, December 31, 2013 (UTC)
Hi Cid. I responded on one of your users' talk pages earlier, but I figured it would be better to comment here. My recommendation is that some of the larger images be bulk-resized so they're closer to the resolution of the TOS cards in the first section of that site. That would make them small enough to be unusable for commercial purposes yet useful for identification and commentary. Especially in the case wen of rare or non-US-released cards, you have a strong case for their inclusion. Just my opinion as someone with experience in a related area.
