Tom Sutton was interviewed in an issue of The Comics Journal. He said how unhappy he was while working on the Star Trek comic, particularly having to redo characters' likenesses to please actors and feeling pressure to draw Robin Curtis as Saavik instead of using Kirstie Alley's image.
