## Batting AverageEdit

Unless Batting Average is figured differently in the Planetary League (normally hits divided by at-bats), the numbers here just don't work out. It should be more like .336 instead of .361. I'm not trying to say we shouldn't post directly from the episode, and if we're sure thats whats happening, then I'm cool with it... but since its such an obvious thing (make his batting average his number of hits divided by his number of at-bats), I'd think Michael Piller would make sure the math was right.

In short... my question is that since the math is blatantly wrong... I think this warrants a second look. Can someone with the DVD's confirm?

Again I'll say. If this is what was on screen, I'm not in favor of changing it here. I understand this is a fictional universe, and Batting Average might be figured differently, and that its more important that we archive accurately than make corrections or rationalizations. Looking around more, interestingly this link "Seibu" we see two other season stats for Buckai, which would presumably come from the same baseball card, and his batting average works out perfectly with the stated number of hits and at-bats. I feel this further compounds the likelihood that the .361 on the Tanis page is incorrectly transcribed, as .361 is also one of the batting averages on one of the stats from the Seibu years. - I agree absolutely. It would be great if someone checked, and even better if we had an image. But if it turns out to be a production error, it would be cool to note that (presuming modern-day rules).

- Of course, in-universe, the card may have had a printing error :-) – Cleanse 08:33, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
