I believe this is actually spelt Tal Shiar. I will check. Alex Peckover 15:34, Jun 2, 2004 (CEST)

Concur. -Mardus 09:24, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
We need more than a "concur", we need a source for that spelling. We seem to have not gotten one 2 1/2 years ago, nd that is most likely why no change was made. If one is to be made, we need the source. --OuroborosCobra talk 16:21, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
The DVD subtitles spell it Tal Shiar.--207.119.46.109 06:15, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

SymbolEdit

Does anyone have an image of the Tal Shiar symbol for this page? -- EtaPiscium 01:30, 12 Sep 2004 (CEST)

Done. It's not of the best quality when it's thumbnailed, though. *grumble* -- Dan Carlson | Talk 03:36, Sep 12, 2004 (CEST)

I read somewhere that the writers/producers intentionally made the name "Tal Shiar" sound similar to the term "Tal-Shya," which describes the method by which Ambassador Gav was killed in TOS's "Journey to Babel." I can't recall where I read that so I don't know if it's official. The similarity in names seems unlikely to be a coincidence, though.

deleted sceneEdit

"In a possible deleted scene of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "The Wire", Benjamin Sisko mentioned Stolpan, a Romulan friend of his, being arrested by the Tal Shiar and taken to their headquarters."

What exactly is a "possible deleted scene?"Blair2009 03:08, February 16, 2010 (UTC)

Good question. :) Perhaps it was in the script, but not in the episode, and there is no evidence of it being filmed? I don't know.--31dot 03:09, February 16, 2010 (UTC)

I took it out per my understanding of the Memory Alpha policy on citations Blair2009 03:17, February 16, 2010 (UTC)

The script can be viewed here: [1] (search for "Stolpan"). There was indeed such a scene that was in the script but not in the final episode. See also: Talk:The Wire#Sisko on RomulusCleanse ( talk | contribs ) 04:05, February 16, 2010 (UTC)

Well, then...I'll put it back...with some clarification. Blair2009 05:35, February 16, 2010 (UTC)
