The beginning of Star Trek IVEdit
I have the region 2 edition of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (Special Edition) DVD. My question is how did the film actually begin in cinemas. Sounds daft doesn't it, but if I select Play Movie the film begins with a recap of Star Trek III narrated by William Shatner introducing the characters. followed by the Paramount Logo followed by the opening credits
However if I select chapter 1 from Scene Selection we see the Paramount Logo followed by the opening credits.
Given that neither the Nimoy nor the Okuda commentary appears over the former I'm pretty convinced that this prologue wasn't seen by the cinema audience, so why put it on the DVD?
Can anyone please tell me for sure? -- Igotbit 15:59, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
- I have had this movie since it first came out on VHS and it always had the recap from ST2, so I'm going to have to go with that being something that was added long before this DVD came out. It seems to me it would be the most logical way to introduce the movie in the theater anyway, since the odds are much higher that someone who sees it in there is less of a fan than someone who might actually go out and buy or rent it on VHS/laser disc, back in the day. --Alan del Beccio 16:42, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
