In the script this ship is called the Shiku Maru --Rebelstrike2005 14:20, 25 Mar 2005 (EST)

Federation vs. StarfleetEdit
According to the script for "Darmok":
STAR TREK: "Darmok" - REV. 7/10/91 - TEASER 2. 2 CONTINUED: (2) DATA Federation vessels have encountered Tamarian ships seven times over the past one hundred years. Each meeting was without incident, but formal relations were never established because communication was not possible. RIKER Why? DATA The Children of Tama were called "incomprehensible" by Captain Silvestri of the Shiku Maru. Other accounts are comparable.
Like the case with the USS Horizon/Horizon (starship), I see no evidence that this ship was a Starfleet vessel, specifically, with a "USS" prefix. This seems to be confirmed in the Star Trek Chronology and Star Trek Encyclopedia, which stated that it was simply a "Federation vessel", versus a "Starfleet vessel", mirroring the dialog. --Alan del Beccio 22:33, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Shiku Maru...Shikamaru... Edit
...strange similarity in the names, don't you think?
- Trek was first! ;-) --Jörg 19:05, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
