Fan fiction?Edit

Note: this was removed from the page and is the source of the discussion:
In the fanmade series, Star Trek: Hidden Frontier, Sector 441 is surrounded by a Tholian blockade.

I can understand references to books in MA but fan fiction, is that allowed to be here?--UESPA 00:00, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

While fan fiction, one could argue that it has a special place in apocrypha because it may be so-called "fan fiction", it still contains *real* actors playing their canon universe characters. --Alan del Beccio 00:29, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
I disagree. If media have actor participation, it does not have the same weight as licensed material. Fanfic is fanfic. Maybe a note could be made in a background section if the relation to canon was made explicit. For example, Kate Mulgrew did a Voyager spoof with the Frasier cast, but any references that might have been made would go in backgrounds rather than apocrypha. -- Connor Cabal 01:02, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Apocrypha is lower on the chain of importance to this site than background. --Alan del Beccio
And fanfic falls even below apoc. We don't allow fanfic anywhere else, so... It doesn't matter whether the actor reprises their role (ie "Of Gods and Men") or not. It's still fan fiction until Paramount actually authorizes it. In terms of the Janeway in Frasier reference... that goes onto the parody/etc page. -- Sulfur 02:52, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Which is lower yet. :) --Alan del Beccio 03:17, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
