During the Cardassian War, the USS Stargazer made an unsuccessful attempt to offer a truce to the Cardassian Empire.

- When they arrived in the sector, Picard said the following:
- PICARD: "Last time I was in this sector, I was on the Stargazer, running at warp speed ahead of a Cardassian warship."
