Star Trek IV?Edit

Could someone tell me more about the ST4 ref? --TOSrules 03:39, 8 Nov 2005 (UTC)

I reviewed the scene and didn't see it, is this from a deleted scene? --TOSrules 03:56, 8 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Species Edit

This Rigel mess is one of my pets.. where does the info come from that the Rigellian 'turtles' from TMP were from the fourth planet? -- Harry t 00:19, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Removed some things Edit

Rigel IV was also home to a species of indigenous reptilian Rigellians who had joined the United Federation of Planets by the year 2272.

This information was never on screen, but comes from backstage notes created by Fred Phillips and Robert Fletcher for Star Trek: The Motion Picture. In apocrypha, Last Unicorn Games and Decipher role-playing games call them Chelarians from Rigel III.

->Not only is this not canon, I also have no idea why they are associated with this planet. The background note even associates them with Rigel III. -- Capricorn 16:26, August 13, 2011 (UTC)

At some time prior to 2285, the people of the Argus River region were in conflict with the planetary government. A significant legal precedent arose from the peace pact between the two parties which stated that "All beings may not be created equal yet shall be given equal opportunity and treatment under the law." (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)

The source of this appeared in the script for the movie, but because Spock's questions were appearing simultaneously on three different screens, this reference remained unseen to the viewer.

->Self-admitted to be non-canon. And also the reference is Argus, which may refer to other things then the river. -- Capricorn 16:26, August 13, 2011 (UTC)

Rigel IV also appears to be home of primitive "hill people" in the Argus River region known for their carvings described in "Wolf in the Fold". These "hill people" may or may not be the same race of reptilians described above.

->First sentence is canon and thus moved to main article, second sentence removed in accordance with removal of Rigellians. -- Capricorn 16:26, August 13, 2011 (UTC)

Removed Edit

In 2293, the location of Rigel, the primary of the Rigel system, in the Milky Way Galaxy was labeled in a star chart that was in Captain James T. Kirk's quarters aboard the USS Enterprise-A. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, production art')

In 2367, the location of Rigel was labeled on a tactical situation monitor in Captain Benjamin Maxwell's ready room on the USS Phoenix. (TNG: "The Wounded", display graphic)

In 2376, the location of Rigel was labeled on a star chart in astrometrics on USS Voyager in 2376. (VOY: "Child's Play")

This is relevant for the primary Rigel and Rigel system articles.Throwback (talk) 01:46, July 20, 2014 (UTC)
