• Who mentioned it?
• Who were they talking to?
• What were they talking about?
• does this fit in a category?

Actually, a monopod is a single-legged support for a camera or a similar hand-held device ("one-legged tripod"). It seems to be commonly used in photography. I can't find a dictionary reference for "monoped" (MonoPed is apparently a modeling company), but that is easily discerned from the words "biped" and "quadriped."--Tim Thomason 00:23, 6 Jan 2006 (UTC)
