Organians Edit

Someone keeps adding Organians to this list. They were not a pre-warp civilization. They were among the most advanced civilizations we ever saw in Trek. I can only think of the Q as really surpassing them, and possibly the machine civilization that created V'Ger. I removed it, and it was re-added saying "they first appeared to be a pre-warp civilization". This is irrelevant. This is not a list of races that "appeared to be pre-warp", it is a list of species that are pre-warp. --OuroborosCobra talk 20:35, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Angosians Edit

OuroborosCobra and I cannot find any evidence of the Angosians either having or lacking warp drive. According to the episode's script (however reliable it is), warp drive is only referenced twice, both times in regard to the Angosian police shuttle (doesn't need to have warp drive).--Tim Thomason 20:55, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

And while you were writing that, I wrote up a post below :D --OuroborosCobra talk 20:57, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
I would like to question the justification for a number of these races being labeled as "pre-warp". If we cannot come up with a good reason for these, they should be removed. --OuroborosCobra talk 20:56, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Removal of the Onarans Edit

While it's true that Picard invokes the Prime Directive in dealing with Onaran drug clients the Brekkans (TNG "Symbiosis"), their ships used Federation-compatible warp coils and were equipped with transporters that could network with the Federation's. This is more a case of not wanting to upset the balance of a civilization than designating them under the "pre-warp" clause. 67.188.189.163 18:18, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Incorrect, it was their "electromagnetic coil"...there was NO mention of that being a warp drive component, nor that they had warp capabilities. Also, possession of transporters, as well as the technology is independant of warp drive, so that should not be taken into consdideration as to determining the type of civiliza tion it is. --Alan 18:55, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
