Even though the passion fruit is said to be named for the passionate qualities it will enhance, it acquired its actual name from Spanish missionaries who believed that certain parts of the plant's fruit resembled different symbols of Christ's Passion

As unnecessary real-world info. – Cleanse ( talk | contribs ) 08:35, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

Well, I dont think so, because if she was saying this to refer to him as being "passionate", then the reference is appropriate to indicate that the passion fruit did not get its name for evoking "passions" in someone but from something quite very different. – Distantlycharmed 16:32, November 29, 2010 (UTC)
Even though that may be true, it doesn't enter into the reference here or the use of the name in this instance. V'Lar was obviously using the literal interpretation of the name, even if it was incorrect. Commenting on the incorrectness is irrelevant in this case. -- Renegade54 16:37, November 29, 2010 (UTC)
We do that quite frequently here, though, to clarify a statement or give it context etc. I mean that is why this is in the background section after all. The reason I put it there was because it was interesting she used it to mean "passionate" even though the fruit got its name based for something totally different. – Distantlycharmed 17:17, November 29, 2010 (UTC)
