It's interesting that Barclay named his cat Neelix since he didn't know about the existence of Neelix the Talaxian at the time he named his cat. I don't think one could actually say Barclay named his cat after Neelix the Talaxian; rather I think it's more appropriate to call it a strange and rare coincidence. That is, unless you assume that the Doctor gave complete crew information to Starfleet when he visited the Prometheus in the 4th season.

From "Message in a Bottle":

EMH: "I spoke directly with headquarters. Apparently, Voyager was declared officially lost fourteen months ago. I set the record straight. I told them everything that's happened to this crew. They said they would contact your families to tell them the news and promised that they won't stop until they've found a way to get Voyager back home. And they asked me to relay a message. They wanted you to know you're no longer alone."

Indeed, not even a remotely "strange and rare coincidence". What I find interesting is that he'd not have mentioned Ahni Jetal's death as he had had all knowledge of her blocked/deleted from his memory by the time of Message in a Bottle.--Archer4real 18:21, September 27, 2011 (UTC)
