Mustard in the references used here is a condiment, not a plant; mustard seed is a seed from a mustard plant that the mustard condiment is made from, hence the previous separation of pages. Otherwise, using this *new* logic, we should probably merge milk and beef with cow, to centralize all cattle references. --Alan 21:49, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

There are always ways that a particular topic can be further subdivided. For example, milk can be further subdivided into the different types of milk from different animals and different ways milk can be prepared. One must draw the line somewhere, and in this case the references total to mustard anything may be scarce enough not to warrant such parsing. -- Kingfisher 21:53, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Admittedly that was a lousy analogy on my part, the fact remains: the mustard seed is only ONE ingredient to the condiment, which also has a large amount of vinegar in it too. My point being, they are not one in the same. A better analogy in this case would be making similar merge with ketchup and tomato. --Alan 22:03, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
