The Val Jean survived the transport to the Delta Quadrant too, soooo, not sure how you might think otherwise. --Alan 13:14, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

He has a Starfleet rank pip so he wasn't a Maquis crewmember. But, as far as we know, all of Val Jean's crew survived the trip to the Delta Quadrant.
