Gay?[]

I've heard rumors that he was gay - I'm trying to assemble a listing of gay Trek actors, writers, etc. Does anybody know this for sure? -Etoile 05:43, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

According to his Wikipedia page, Butrick's private life isn't well-documented. He passed away from AIDs in 1989, and that's probably where the gay/bi rumors come from.--Tim Thomason 05:51, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Corrected the Math[]

The age of mr Butrick when he died have been corrected, from 29 to 39 (89-59=40, minus a few month)

Your mathematics appear to be a bit rusty. 1989 - 1959 = 30. I've reverted your edit. --From Andoria with Love 14:28, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

"original" Star Trek?[]

I'm confused by the reference indicating he was one of the few actors to appear in both the 'original' Star Trek and one of the spinoffs. Doesn't 'original' Star Trek mean TOS, in which he did not appear?'Bold text'

merritt butrick was an incredibly gifted actor, who left us much too soon.to me whether he was gay or straight is not an issue, only that someone with so much talent is no longer with us.

The two "movies" he starred in were based on the original series, thus the refrence to the "original" Star Trek. Later he played a role in an episode of ST:TNG. 67.166.34.189 07:43, 15 September 2008 (UTC)M Raymond Villamor

Speculation on HIV contraction[]

Am I the only person who finds that the section on Butrick's contraction of HIV unnecessary and perhaps a tad ignorant? If we knew anything concrete, maybe it wouldn't. However in light of the fact that we know so little, speculation appears more like idle gossip than anything else. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 96.127.194.69 (talk).
