Forum:Good example of medical tricorderEdit

Can anybody help me? I'm going to give a talk about medical imaging and I'd like a good clip showing the use of a medical tricorder (ideally from the Original Series, Next Generation if not). I'd appreciate suggestions of which episodes to look at (with a short note saying how the tricorder is being used if you're feeling really helpful) and then I'll get a screenshot or a short clip.

Many, many thanks. This will save me a LOT of time -- AdamPG 14:43, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

TNG: "Angel One", about 14 and a half minutes into it. Very close shot of Dr. Crusher opening and using it to scan Cpt Picard. --Cyno01 07:16, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
A good episode would the TNG episode "True Q" which shows some examples of how the tricorder works and Dr. Crusher explains what each of the images mean. --Captain Jon 02:56, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Shouldn't we have a picture of Dr. McCoy's hand scanner? Isn't that part of the medical tricorder? There is a separate article, I suppose, so perhaps the photo should go there. Nonetheless, it seems a curious omission. --JonCruz

Real world Edit

An earliest rendition of the medical tricorder was invented by 2009.

We've had similar discussions before...this isn't a tricorder and doesn't belong. It may be called a tricorder but it's not - if it is to be included it should be in an "external link" section only and even then we don't link to stuff like this on other articles I don't see why this would be any different... — Morder (talk) 09:24, December 18, 2009 (UTC)

Hell, I just checked again and it isn't even called a tricorder just a medical imaging device from a cellphone. — Morder (talk) 09:26, December 18, 2009 (UTC)
