confusion Edit

What is the "Deep Space Nine 'relaunch series'"? Perhaps a link or more detailed information would help. -- My apologies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Space_Nine_relaunch explains, but there is no entry on Memory Alpha (hint hint).

Surname/given nameEdit

I posted this item about her surname:

In the DS9 episode "Take Me Out to the Holosuite", her jersey had "Leeta" printed on the back, implying that it is her surname rather than her given name.

Today I noticed an anonymous IP changed it to:

In the DS9 episode "Take Me Out to the Holosuite", her jersey had "Leeta" printed on the back. However, this does NOT imply that "Leeta" is her surname, since Kira's jersey had "Nerys" printed on the back. Apparently Bajorans prefer to go by their given names during sporting events.

I went back to watch the episode in question to check this because I was sure it said "Kira" on the back, and it turns out neither of us are right. In timeframe 27:39, it clearly says "Kira" on the back of her jersey, while in 28:10 is says "Nerys". Obviously a continuity error (someone already beat me to imdb). As for the cause of it, I have an inkling that when the jerseys were made for this episode "Nerys" was a misprint caused by the Bajoran naming conventions (surname before given name), since every other character has their surname on the back.--This user is not Jesus 10:02, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

An anonymous user has expressed concern that we have no way to know if Leeta is her given name or her family name, and has accordingly changed "family" to "full" in the relevant passage.--31dot 10:57, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

holosuite clothing configuration changes Edit

Perhaps an off screen discussion about which name to put on the jerseys resulted in Kira and Leeta putting on different names. Kira changed hers during the game. Tyberius 21:49, 26 February 2007
