City or an actual Lake Edit

I don't believe it was mentioned in the movie if this was a city or not, but, and forgive my ignorance, is it to much to assume "Lake Armstrong" might be a lake, and not a city? -AJHalliwell 04:12, 30 Jun 2005 (UTC)

There are many places in North America or Australia ending in -bridge, -ford or -mouth that have no connection to a river, because they were named by colonists. Riker mentioned Lake Armstrong after Tycho City and Neu Berlin, which are both cities. In my opinion, Lake Armstrong is a city, possibly located close to Tranquillity Base. The 'Lake' is poetic licence, given by the colonists who founded the place. Still, it is speculation either way.--Indefatigable 01:33, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Agreed. Removed speculation and rewrote to be ambiguous. — Morder (talk) 02:35, September 24, 2009 (UTC)
So which category should this be in then? - Archduk3:talk 03:24, September 24, 2009 (UTC)
Well isn't that a good question. :) I say that it was definitely a settlement as implied by it's relationship to the other cities mentioned...but that's speculation. Let's see what others have to say. — Morder (talk) 04:52, September 24, 2009 (UTC)
Riker said that it could be seen from the Earth, so on its face that would suggest either a large lake or a bright/large city with the word "lake" in its name. The Sea of Tranquility is not actually a sea, so perhaps some similar naming scheme was used to name the city. I think a lake is unlikely, as there is not enough water on the moon to create one.--31dot 11:21, September 24, 2009 (UTC)
