Klingon name for ritualEdit

Does anyone know of a canon Klingon name for the "Klingon death ritual" first seen in TNG: "Heart of Glory"? Thanks. Suck My Wake 08:19, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

In Klingon for the Galactic Traveler the translation of "death ritual" is given as Heghtay. joqral 12:21, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. I added that to the Klingon death ritual page. Suck My Wake 18:35, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

  • "tay" is the word for ceremony or ritual as the proper transliteration of Ruustai is actually ruS'tay 14:03, May 29, 2012 (UTC)

RemovedEdit

"who died after being infected with a genetic virus by the Albino. The event made a lasting impression on Curzon Dax, as well as Jadzia Dax."

I moved this to the Dax, son of Kang page since it does not relate directly to the Klingon Death Ritual this page is about. --Suck My Wake 02:32, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

ancient death rituals Edit

I just added a brief statement about the Klingon mummification glyph to the other rites section. I should be noted somewhere (perhaps in a background section) that when B'Elanna Torres mentioned the standard treatment of a corpse to Chakotay while discussing the Vhnori bodies they'd discovered in VOY: "Emanations", Chakotay was about to mention archeological digs on the Klingon homeworld when he was cut off by the appearance of the subspace vacuole. It may be related to the mummification glyph or some other evidence of special treatment for the dead by the Klingon. Vern4760 05:14, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

Gorkon Edit

Why did Chancellor Gorkon not receive the ritual after his death? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Philfromwaterbury (talk • contribs).

In canon, it was not said. In real life, it probably was not necessary for the film or otherwise simply not included.--31dot 00:26, January 15, 2011 (UTC)
In fact, for the most part we haven't seen the ritual used for anyone. --OuroborosCobra talk 01:29, January 15, 2011 (UTC)
