Is this article going too far?Edit

OK, I know that we're meant to be cataloguing all canon information, but there are limits. 'Kermit T Frog' was clearly intended as a joke, was visible on screen for a fraction of a second, and surely we cannot make a serious article out of it. Do we seriously think that the E-D carried a Porsche, a Douglas Dakota and a giant duck? I thought that the USS Alka-selsior was a bit too far, but this article takes the biscuit!--Indefatigable 02:20, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

The problem with discounting jokes is that it is entirely subjective. Is naming people after production staff too far? What about Jonesium? That's a plausible name for an element, but is a joke. Many, many, references in Star Trek are a joke in some way or another. It's not up to us to arbitrarily remove them.– Cleanse 02:35, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
In addition, how is the rest of the database hurt by this article being here? Will you read phaser and start disbelieving it because of Kermit? --OuroborosCobra talk 07:01, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
This made me laugh. For the record, though, we also have this policy, which this could technically fall under. But, yah, canon is canon, and what's on the screen is canon. No if's. No and's. No but's. --From Andoria with Love 07:05, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Fair enough, point taken. Just out of curiosity, what are we going to do about the duck?--Indefatigable 20:10, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
