Isn't is speculative to say that some of this species had spaceflight just because someone looking like a member of this species was assimilated? Many members of species in Star Trek look similar but are not directly related, such as the Mintakans and the Vulcans.--31dot 11:38, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

I agree, I thought it was really odd that it was placed here. I find it hard to believe that some have spaceflight, and others don't on the same planet. Kelis' species was pre-warp for start. And second, wouldn't B'Elanna or Harry have noticed that some people on the planet were space worthy? Seeing as it wasn't mentioned onscreen, I'd say that the remark that some have spaceflight is pure speculation. Its not canon at all. As 31dot said, maybe they just looked similar, or maybe something else, like they were taken of the planet by someone else. I vote for removing the remark on spaceflight. But leaving the part about the kid in and that he appeared to be one of the species. Even though he stated he was on his father's ship when assimilated, how that is possible should be stated as unknown. --Marjolijn 13:53, 15 October 2008 (CET)

I think that's reasonable.--31dot 12:01, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

"Ship"[]

I was looking at the bginfo note about the kid talking about his "father's ship." You know, just becuase this is the 24th century doesn't mean that a pre-warp civilization can't use actually aquatic ships. I think that this should be noted in the bginfo, or is that not what it's used for? To me, leaving the note as is, shows that this was not thought out before being written.--Obey the Fist!! 20:12, March 25, 2010 (UTC)

It's speculation to say that, as we have no idea what he meant. Maybe there is a better way to word this note, but we shouldn't speculate.--31dot 20:23, March 25, 2010 (UTC)
It may be possible for his "ship" to be a relativistic starship (a starship that uses time dilation to traverse space instead of warp drive) but that's just me--Peacock486 14:18, April 10, 2010 (UTC)

Be that as it may, 31dot's statement of speculation would still hold to your dilating starship (especially during contractions). Thank you, I'll be here all night, don't forget to tip your waitress.--Obey the Fist!! 15:12, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
