In an alternate timeline, Joe's granddaughter Lana married the Doctor in 2404, who took Joe's name to honor his wife's grandfathers.

Is this supposed to be background information? Also, is this article as a whole about the name or the grandfather? --Alan del Beccio 21:30, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

It's about the character from "Endgame" right now. I guess it could be moved to something like Joe (24th century), as I by the links just realized there was another Joe in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. The part you quoted, it's the way alternate timeline material is presented not? Kennelly 21:44, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

25th Century or 24th? Edit

I was just wondering (especially considering Kennelly's comment above) whether Joe should be from the 25th Century or the 24th, particularly as, while the future portion of "Endgame" does take place early in the 25th century, Lana's grandfather would presumably have been more in the 24th century than the 25th (particularly since according to the summary here for "Endgame", the future year is 2404). While I hate to make assumptions without canon basis, I would think this is one that could be reasonably made, no? --umrguy42 01:18, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

I would say place him in the 24th century, since we're not even sure if he's alive in the 25th. --From Andoria with Love 02:55, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
