Talk:Jerry Goldsmith

Sometime in the mid 1980s I had the privilege of attending a Fort Worth Symphony Concert performance of Jerry Goldsmith's works that included the Star Trek TMP and TNG theme - Jerry Goldsmith himself conducted the performance. I will never forget it. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.8.117.38 (talk).

Questionable data
Edit
The opening line, "Jerry Goldsmith originally intended to become a concert hall composer, but soon realized that the infrequency of concert hall commissions would never satisfy his hunger to write music (much less pay the bills)" seems inaccurate to me. In an interview he did with Jon Burlingame a couple years before he died, Goldsmith stated that he was inspired to pursue a career in FILM music after seeing the movie "Spellbound" (1945) at the age of 16. I'm curious as to where whomever wrote this article found this "... originally intended to become a concert hall composer..." stuff, because I've seen no sign of it. If you'd like to discuss it with me, I'm user:jg2904 saying hi from Wikipedia (I'm the main contributor to Goldsmith's aritcle there). You can also message me at facebook.com/jg2904. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.100.202.247 (talk).
